Dead Air Ep 159 – Silver Bullet

It’s Friday night! The moon is bright! Gonna have some fun, show yah how it’s done. TGIF! That’s for; Thank Goodness It’s Fright-Day! Seriously though, there is a full moon tonight, weird right?

We’re smack dab in the middle of Stephen Kingapalooza! This time we talk about the 1985 Werewolf adaptation, Silver Bullet!

Marty and his Sister Jane, live fairly typical lives in Tarker’s Mills, Maine but, in the the summer of 76, strange and gruesome murders start occurring.
Over time the bodies start to increase and a scared and outraged town go on a manhunt. However, all signs point to the impossible, a werewolf.

Marty is the only one who’s seen it gets the help of his sister and Uncle Red. They have precious little time before the next full moon and everyone in town is suspect. Can they discover who is changing to a murderous wolf at night before it strikes again? Or will the town tear itself apart with suspicion and fear before the wolf has a chance to.

It’s Stephen Kingapalooza, 2019! Our first film in this block of King adaptations is none other than the 2007 classic; The Mist

After a terrible storm David Drayton takes his son Billy to the local supermarket. Trailing behind them from over the lake is a mysterious and thick mist that is coming from the mountains.

Once at the market the mist envelopes the town and with it comes death, paranoia and mayhem.

As the dark and deadly monsters siege the store it becomes obvious that the danger is not only outside, but, within. Tensions and religious beliefs flare. Is this the reckoning? Or is the secret military experiments within the area to blame for the apocalyptic horrors that are hiding in the mist?

Today on Dead Air, terror will be delivered on six legs! We talk about the 1988 creature feature; The Nest!

The sleepy island town of North Port has a serious roach problem and while most citizens find them to be an annoying fact of life, this nuisance is about to become a nightmare!

INTEC has genetically altered these cockroaches in hopes of destroying the pests once and for all but instead, because of their meddling, has created a hungry swarm that thrives on meat!

Humans, pets and wildlife start vanishing and it’s up to the last survivors of the island to make it through the night while help arrives. However, a voracious appetite was only the beginning. The cockroaches are mutating further and becoming something else entirely. Something almost human.

Today’s show we tackle the criminally underrated 2014 film, Let Us Prey!
Officer Heggie has her first night on the job cut out for her. A mysterious man known only as Six is struck by a drunk teenager but, leaves no body behind. When Six finally does show up it appears his very presence unnerves people to their very core. With good reason for everyone at this precinct has a dark sin in their past. Some sins, so bad they are unspeakable and worth killing to keep secret.

Six warns that come midnight they all will pay for their crimes. As the night lingers and both officers and prisoners start to loose it. It’s clear that whoever Six is, he will make good on his promise to collect.
