Dead Air 269 – Maxxxine : A life she deserves

Welcome to Hollyweird! Dead Air caps off the bloody conclusion to Ti West’s X trilogy with the 2024 film, ‘Maxxxine’!

The year is 1985 and we rejoin Maxine Minx; now years after the brutal massacre that occurred on that rural farm in Texas. However, Maxine has left that tragedy in her review mirror and is more determined than ever to become a star.

She is about to get started on the leading role in a horror movie that is sure to be her big break but no sooner does she land the role, she is stalked by a mysterious black-gloved killer. Her friends and colleagues become victims one by one, and the police are baffled. But, Maxine will not lose focus. She came to Hollywood to become a star–and she will kill or die to do it!

The Dead Air Podcast was originally supposed to be a small five minute section within a larger show that was to be hosted by our mutual friend and former Rue Morgue Radio host/ producer; Tomb Dragomir. After I made the pilot, I realized that a segment where I talked by myself, sucked. I contacted Lydia and we started to make small segments for Tomb’s show. After about a year of waiting for a very busy Tomb we decided to take matters in to our own hands and launch Dead Air as its own show. Each week we sit down and discuss a horror movie that is either requested by you guys or from our own personal collections.
