Mike Enslin is a horror author that seems to have a knack for debunking haunted hotels but when he receives a mysterious post card inviting him to room 1408 he finds something far worse than a fearsome apparition. He finds a room that is purely and simply evil. Ignoring all warnings he finds himself locked within the room as it slowly and effectively dissolves his mind. As time passes and he no longer can discern reality from fantasy it becomes of question of just what will the room show him next?
